TRASH LINERS & RECEPTACLES
Rubbermaid Commercial Products continues to develop innovative products and system solutions in the categories of food service, cleaning, safety, material handling, waste and agriculture.
United Receptacle has over 1000 steel, fiberglass & aluminum receptacles, smokers' urns, recycling containers & related products designed to meet virtually every waste control requirement. Made with the highest quality and expert craftsmanship, United has one of the industry's most demanding quality control standards to ensure your complete satisfaction.
Noramco offers a complete line of industrial and institutional trash cans liners. With their stringent specifications, you're guaranteed to receive a quality product every time. Picking a liner can get a little confusing so here are some helpful tips to help you select the right bag for the job.
- Measure for Correct can Liner Size - Follow these instructions on determining the proper size liner for your receptacle. In our liner specifications the width is the first number and the length is listed second. Bag Width is measured by using ½ the outer circumference of the container. Bag Length is measured by using the height of the container plus 4 inched for overhang.
- Choose a Type of Plastic - Pick from Linear Low Density or High Density. Here is the comparison for both types:
- Maximum puncture and stretch resistance compared to High Density. Recommended for sharper objects under tougher transport conditions.
- Multi-purpose applications.
- Most prevalent type of film used in the industry today.
- Manufactured in a wide variety of colors.
- Compared to traditional Low Density film, Linear Low can be run at a lighter gauge with equal strength.
- Linear Low Density is measured in mils.
- To convert microns to mils, divide the micron by 25.4 to arrive at true mil thickness.
- Available in Star Seal Bottom.

The star seal is the most common type of seal in the market. Designed without gussets, the star seal eliminates gaps along the seal where leaks can occur. This allows the bag to more easily conform to the shape of the container and distributes refuse weight evenly inside the bag. Star seal liners maximize the bag's carrying capacity and virtually eliminate leaks. Star seal liners are designed in two dimensions, e.g., 40 x 46. |
- HMW/HD liners are about 3 times stronger and more durable than ordinary polyethylene liners of the same thickness.
- HMW/HD liners are made much thinner than Linear Low Density liners but can hold the same or greater weight.
- Substantial cost savings on a per-liner basis.
- When they are properly made, HMW/HD liners will rarely "zipper" if punctured. Great for paper and non-sharp objects under moderate transport conditions.
- High Density is measured in microns.
- To convert mils to microns, multiply the mil by 25.4 to arrive at true micron thickness.
- Available in Star Seal Bottom.
- Choose a Gauge - Film thickness is no longer a satisfactory standard for judging overall strength. The development of improved LLDPE resin in the liner industry has completely changed the standard method for selecting the correct can liners. These materials have allowed manufacturers to produce thinner, lighter trash bags which are stronger and more durable than the thicker bags previously made from low density resin. This is why gauge is no longer an effective way to determine liner strength. Instead of stating actual thickness, it is now generally accepted to use terminology such as "Light", "Medium", "Heavy", and "Extra Heavy".
